Wrestling freestyle in Yokosuka, Japan seven years ago was the start of my career. With my father's military duties up overseas my family and I moved back to the United States. I then started wrestling folk style under former ACC Champion Mike Benzel at Kellam High School's Mat Rat's in Virginia Beach, VA. With my two older brothers wrestling for Kellam it showed me how much they were learning and accomplishing each day. It showed me that it was a program with very good coaches with strong confidence in what they taught. Over my years of wrestling I have practiced long, hard, and daily to win every match and every tournament I have attended.
Winning the Middle School Nation Championship was the turn of my wrestling profession. It showed me that hard work really pays off and it was worth every drop of sweat. I then went to wrestle at Kellam High School where I was a two time state finalist, a region champion, and a two time district champion. My senior year I won the very prestigious Beast Of the East tournament and the number one preseason tournament, the Super 32 Challenge. After earning a record of 184-13 I received the title of the number one senior in the nation. I was selected to wrestle in the incredibly respected Dapper Dan Classic. Over the years I believe wrestling has taught me life lessons I would have never learned in any other sport. Now I realize with hard work and dedication dreams really do come true.
