Chase Lind led the Falcons of Ludlowe by winning the Class L States at 152
pounds (4-0). Ludlowe placed 4th as a team which is Ludlowe's highest team
place ever. Last year the team finished 6th. For the second year in a row
George Wales, 120 pounds (3-1), made it to the finals but this year he finished
second instead of winning. George became the only two time finalist for
Ludlowe. Lee Stenild Johansen placed 3rd at 170 (5-1). Bobby Clark placed 4th
at 138 (3-2) and Billy Stapleton at 285 placed 6th (3-3). All 5 of these
wrestlers have qualified for the CT State open to be held at Hillhouse HS in
New Haven next week. Austin Sherman 113 (2-2), Zachary Taylor 106 (2-2), Nate
Nelson 182 (2-2), and Pat O'Donovan (1-2) also won matches to help Ludlowe
score points for the team. Ludlowe placed 4th as a team without one of their
best wrestlers Marcus Sherrod 145 whos was seeded 4th and would have almost
certainly finished in the top 4 which would have put the team well into 3rd
place. Chase become one of three Ludlowe wrestlers to win the Ls. The other two are
George Wales and Henry Fatigate.
